A meh ToC for me this week. Good to see Gintama rise so high. Haikyuu!! also had a nice leap - from bottom to 3rd. Shokugeki no Souma had an unexpected drop. Beelzebub is shockingly low. Kurokuroku and Hime-Dol! have both had disappointing starts.

We still have the big news to expect for next issue. Last week I said it would be in this issue, that was a mistake. Sorry.

Now it's time for my MotM slot! For August and September, I;ve been pimping Toriko. Time for s'more whorin'.

Toriko is a written and illustrated by Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro. It has been serialized in Jump since May 19, 2008, and has been collected into 25 tankōbon volumes. It follows the adventure of Toriko, a Gourmet Hunter, as he searches for rare, diverse foods to complete a full-course meal. A man with inhuman ability, he utilizes his incredible strength and knowledge of the animal kingdom to capture ferocious, evasive, and rare beasts to further his menu. He is accompanied by the weak and timid chef Komatsu, who, inspired by Toriko's ambition, travels with him to improve his culinary skills and to find rare ingredients. Toriko and his friends often fight against the Gourmet Corps, who seek to take control of the world's entire food supply and are looking for the highly-sought after ingredient GOD, which the legendary Gourmet Hunter Acacia used to end the war that took place five-hundred years before the series began.
The manga series is licensed for an English-language release by Viz Media in North America and Madman Entertainment in Australasia. Madman also licensed the anime series in Australasia, while Funimation Entertainment has licensed it in North America.

Seeing as this is the last week in September, my next MotM will be...

*drum roll pls*

... World Trigger! *fanfare* *rapturous applause*

Back from holiday, bitches! Also managed to return with what I assume to be bedbugs from my hotel. And herpes. And there was this MASSIVE rat that I saw once from my room window, running across some abandoned part of the town. But anyway, a mostly-good ToC for me this week. Kurokuroku has a fucking horrific first ranking. However, Sket Dance's first ranking was also bottom, and we know how it turned out. I, however, think this'll be a swift cancellation. And I'm always right, so there.

There's a special collaboration next week of Assassination Classroom and Kuroko no Basket, which I did not see coming, and we're also apparently getting some big news in the next issue. I really have no clue as to what it could be. Maybe Jump's going out of business or something, I dunno.

Now for my MotM slot. Here's some info about Toriko, give the series a try if you don't follow it. If you do, please give your impressions.

  • Shokugeki no Souma is 1st from 4th!
  • One Piece is 2nd again
  • Beelzebub's risen out of the bottom 5 to 8th from 11th,...
-
  • ... but dropping from 7th to 11 and into the bottom 5 for the first time is Nisekoi. Really? REALLY?
Other changes
  • Kuroko no Basket: 10th > 3rd
  • PSI Kusuo Saiki: 5th (2 issues back) > 4th
  • Naruto: 2nd > 5th
  • World Trigger: 8th > 6th

  • Kochikame: 13th > 12th
  • Soul Catcher(S): 11th > 13th
  • Haikyuu!!: 12th > 14th
Apologies for the tardiness. Weird-ass ToC this week. Very surprised at Nisekoi's rank. Even more surprised at Haikyuu!!'s - the bottom 2 for 2 issues now. We got another new series starting next week, along with an extended number of pages for a few series. Kuroko no Basket's getting 23p, Ginga Patrol Jaco 31p, Naruto 21p and Assassination Classroom 23p. Oh, and apparently in Issue #45, there's some "Big News". Could be anything. The announcement of an anime? HunterxHunter returning from hiatus? *cough*Narutofinallyending*cough*. Kurokuroku's getting its first ranking next week. I'm predicting... a little above the bottom 5. Not horrendous, but not great.

Yet again, there won't be another post from me next week as I'm going on holiday! Which means I'll be behind. Again. But when I do catch up, I should be in the swing of things and posts should be regular and frequent.

As many of you know, Toriko's my MotM for September. Give your impressions if you read it.

*OFF TOPIC* So, the release date for GTA V edges ever closer. I'm predicting a great number of people next week calling in sick from work and school, or just not bothering to turn up. If you're getting the game, what feature are you most excited to see? What console are you getting the game on? Speaking of, anybody heard about the petition to not bring GTA V to the PC. Wow. This is up there with the petition to bring back the anti-consumer Xbox One features...

You have the right to remain silent...

I'm aware that this week's ToC is out early. Post will be up tomorrow, along with the amended ToC from last week, as I'm a very busy antelope today. Toodles!

This is the correct version of the Jump Issue #41 ToC.

I'm back bitches! A great ToC overall for me. I'm happy because Bleach is also back, bitches! Smoky B.B.'s been cancelled (like nobody saw that one coming) replacing it is Hachi, next week, and Koi no Cupid Jin Yakenohara the week after, the latter of which sounds like another romcom. I'm just gonna throw this out there and say that Hachi'll be a moderate success. I dunno, gut feeling. And I'm always right, so...

I'm extending Toriko as my MotM to September too, as I didn't give it enough coverage in August. I'mma tell you about it, and if you're interested, give it a look. If you already read it, please give your reactions to the series - what you like and dislike about it.

*OFF TOPIC* So, with the football transfer window shut, are you happy with the transfers your team has made? While I'm happy Man United has signed Fellaini (and Janko), I'm pretty disappointed with their conduct overall. I mean, we shouldn't have been rushing to get the Herrera and Coentrao deals through at the last minute - both of which failed. Pretty embarrassing that a club of United's stature acted like this. Not to mention we failed to sign Strootman and Thiago Alcantara. Woodward (and Moyes) could and should have done a lot better this window, but I have no doubt they can improve and hopefully make up for it in January...

Oh, AND PLAY KAGAWA, FOR FUCK'S SAKE!!!!!!!!!
