  • Koisuru Edison: 11th > 14th
An ok, slightly weird ToC this week. PSI's rise the most unexpected. Assassination Classroom drops out of the top 2 for the first time in forever, Beelzebub continues to rise and Gintama continues it bottom 5 slump. One Piece'll be back next week, but Bleach won't be back till Issue #41. Both being absent this week  are quite possibly the reason why the ToC is a little weird.

It also appears that we have some bangaihen in next week's issue. For those of you who don't know what this is, they're basically side stories of a manga series, but they're not linked to any actual plot. We're getting i for Gag Manga Biyori (dunno what that is) and Inumaru Dashi, which was in JUMP aaaaages ago. Back when I started this blog, in fact. I actually wish Katekyo Hitman Reborn! would get one - that ending left me VERY unsatisfied...

The last of the new series starts next week in the form of Hime Doll!!, and like I said would happen, Koisuru Edison has made way. No more confusing-as-fuck double chapters! Ceeelebrate good times, come on!

As you probably already know, I've chosen Kuroko no Basket as my Manga of the Month. I'll tell you a little about it and encourage you to check it out. If you have, and/or you read it regularly, let me know what you think of it in the comments!

Kuroko no Basket (Kuroko's Basketball), written by Tadatoshi Fujimaki, is about 5 legendary basketballers, known as the "Generation of Miracles" , who each played for a middle school team, but went to different high schools. However, there was actually a sixth member called Kuroko Tetsuya, who now goes to Seirin High, and now wants to help Seirin become the best in Japan, with the help of his naturally-talented teammate, Tagami Kaiga, by taking on his former teammates - one-by-one.

Kuroko no Basket has been serialised since December 2008 and so far has 21 volumes released, with sales of over 9,000,000 copies in Japan. Volumes have frequently appeared on lists of best-selling manga in Japan. The first season of the anime premiered in April 2012 and ended in September 2012. A second season is also set to air this October.

That's it for this week! Thanks for reading, see ya next week! ^.^

JUMP Issue #34 Info

Toriko (Cover & Lead CP)
World Trigger, Beelzebub (CP)

+
  • One Piece remains in 1st
  • Assassination Classroom remains in 2nd (based on 2 issues ago)
  • Nisekoi breaks into the top 5 at 4th, from 7th (2 issues ago)
  • Shokugeki no Souma moves from 3rd to 5th, still a great ranking
-
  • Beelzebub drops to 9th from 7th
  • Although Bleach has moved out of the bottom 5, it remains in 11th
  • Gintama is 1 place above the bottom 5 for a 2nd consecutive week at 12th

Other Changes:
  • Naruto: 6th > 3rd
  • World Trigger: 7th > 6th
  • Kuroko no Basket: 5th > 7th
  • PSI Kusuo Saiki: 4th > 8th
  • Soul Catcher(S): 9th > 10th
  • Kochikame: 10th > 13th
  • Mutou Black: 12th > 15th
  • Cross Manage: 13th > 16th
  • Koisuru Edison: 12th > 17th
A good ToC for me this week. OP and AC doing as well as expected. Bleach and Gintama continue their slumps. And overall poor first ranking from each of the 3 new series. That's not to say they won't improve, as we're already seeing it with Soul Catcher(S).

Akira Toriyama's new series starts this issue, and is also the start of 3 new series starting over the next few issues. I also expect Cross Manage and Koisuru Edison to make way for it.

Continuing with my Manga of the Month theme, I've chosen Kuroko no Basket. I'll tell you a little about it and encourage you to check it out. If you have, and/or you read it regularly, let me know what you think of it in the comments!
