A good ToC for me this week, bearing in mind some of my selected series are absent/have CP so are not ranked. Gintama definitely surpassed my expectations, Triggertards - I mean -World Trigger fans won't be too pleased this week.

A reminder that this week is a double issue. And no, it doesn't mean there're two manga chapters in an issue, it means this week's chapters will account for 2 weeks, essentially meaning there's a break next week.

In addition, there won't be a blog post from me in 2 weeks as I'll be away at a music festival. Sad, I know. Try not to miss me too hard. So expect the next post in 3 weeks. If you're lucky.

My Manga of the Month for August is Toriko! I'mma tell you about it, and if you're interested, give it a look. If you already read it, please give your reactions to the series - what you like and dislike about it.

Toriko is a written and illustrated by Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro. It has been serialized in Jump since May 19, 2008, and has been collected into 25 tankōbon volumes. It follows the adventure of Toriko, a Gourmet Hunter, as he searches for rare, diverse foods to complete a full-course meal. A man with inhuman ability, he utilizes his incredible strength and knowledge of the animal kingdom to capture ferocious, evasive, and rare beasts to further his menu. He is accompanied by the weak and timid chef Komatsu, who, inspired by Toriko's ambition, travels with him to improve his culinary skills and to find rare ingredients. Toriko and his friends often fight against the Gourmet Corps, who seek to take control of the world's entire food supply and are looking for the highly-sought after ingredient GOD, which the legendary Gourmet Hunter Acacia used to end the war that took place five-hundred years before the series began.

The manga series is licensed for an English-language release by Viz Media in North America and Madman Entertainment in Australasia. Madman also licensed the anime series in Australasia, while Funimation Entertainment has licensed it in North America.

That's it for this week. Like this week's ToC? Dislike it? Sound off in the comments below. Don't forget to Follow me on Twitter, become a Follower of this blog, or Like my page on Facebook.

Thanks for reading, see ya in 3 weeks! ^.^

  4. There's a typo, Beelzebub is supposed to drop in the BOTTOM 5. A very sad sight, for Beelzebub is one of my favorite manga.

  5. Jump is a few series short at the moment though, right? So is being in the bottom five right now as bad as usual?

    1. I guess it really depends on how you view it. It's one of those "Glass Half-Full, Half-Empty" things.

    1. Kochikame is the longest running manga currently. Probably won't end until the author dies.

  7. Hey, could you explain what is the number in parentheses mean? I'm confused here.. Is that number represent the chapter or the page or something? Thanks...!

    1. Yep, the number in parenthesis represents the chapter being ranked.
