A meh ToC for me this week. Good to see Gintama rise so high. Haikyuu!! also had a nice leap - from bottom to 3rd. Shokugeki no Souma had an unexpected drop. Beelzebub is shockingly low. Kurokuroku and Hime-Dol! have both had disappointing starts.

We still have the big news to expect for next issue. Last week I said it would be in this issue, that was a mistake. Sorry.

Now it's time for my MotM slot! For August and September, I;ve been pimping Toriko. Time for s'more whorin'.

Toriko is a written and illustrated by Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro. It has been serialized in Jump since May 19, 2008, and has been collected into 25 tankōbon volumes. It follows the adventure of Toriko, a Gourmet Hunter, as he searches for rare, diverse foods to complete a full-course meal. A man with inhuman ability, he utilizes his incredible strength and knowledge of the animal kingdom to capture ferocious, evasive, and rare beasts to further his menu. He is accompanied by the weak and timid chef Komatsu, who, inspired by Toriko's ambition, travels with him to improve his culinary skills and to find rare ingredients. Toriko and his friends often fight against the Gourmet Corps, who seek to take control of the world's entire food supply and are looking for the highly-sought after ingredient GOD, which the legendary Gourmet Hunter Acacia used to end the war that took place five-hundred years before the series began.
The manga series is licensed for an English-language release by Viz Media in North America and Madman Entertainment in Australasia. Madman also licensed the anime series in Australasia, while Funimation Entertainment has licensed it in North America.

Seeing as this is the last week in September, my next MotM will be...

*drum roll pls*

... World Trigger! *fanfare* *rapturous applause*

  2. Great blog, I'm a new follower and will be looking forward for more of your weekly reports. Now I know what's hot and what's not, and what's more likely to get axed soon(Dear God Beelzebub no!!). Thank you Bakuman for giving me insight into this rankings and how important they are. XD (is there really no edit button for comments?)

    2. Just a quick question, what does the numbers in the parenthesis(after Manga title and chp number) represent?

    3. They represent the actual chapter being ranked. I keep meaning to put that explanation in every post.

  3. Can i note one thing about Madman's manga licensing, it is just the Viz release, they just distribute, nothing is different(they dont translate anything)

  5. Beelzebub on the last place. Noooo! The rest is okay. Shokugeki no Soma is still in a fairly good position.

Hooray for World Trigger! And here I though you didn't like it.

  6. Wooo! World Trigger! Im really getting into this manga. The only problem it haas is the exposition. There is too much exposition about everything, and we are entering our 30th chapter!

Happy to see AC where it is, waiting for the anime soon xD
